Dear Nigel,
Further to our recent telecon, I should be grateful if
you would draw your members' attention to the two-part article
on the Buccaneer that is being published in the 2007 February
and March issues of Air International.
The article was written by David Hobbs, former curator
of the RNAS Yeovilton
FAA Museum.
It is titled 'Blackburn Buccaneer - Britain's Last Indigenous
Strike Aircraft'.
Part 1 ( February ) describes its origins and covers its
entry into RN service.
Part 2 ( March ) begins with the S.2, its entry into service
with the RAF and brings the story up to date with Mike Beachyhead's
Buccaneers in Cape Town.
Part 2 also includes a detailed cutaway drawing of the
Buccaneer S.2B by Mike Badrocke and a section on 'Flying
the Buccaneer' by Tom Eeles.
