Thanks to Norman Roberson of the Buccaneer Aircrew Association
for a bit more detail of what happened to XV867.
Buccaneer S2B XV867 made an emergency landing at R.A.F. Leeming
on 10 September 1993, following a hydraulic failure in the Western
Approaches.
Diverted to R.A.F. Leeming, 800 miles away, with tanker support
and on landing, the port undercarriage collapsed and the aircraft
veered off the main runway.
A decision was made not to repair the aircraft due to the types
impending withdrawal. It was operating with 208
Sqn at that time.
A furthur photographic update has been received of what happend
to XV867 in the following year. Please follow this link.
