Good progress was made yesterday, ( Saturday 4 August 2007
), with Nige G, Stuart, Keith, Dan Knight and Dave Moore
in attendance, the work load broke down like thus:
Keith & Dan - Service weapons loading unit, service
both 10 ton jacks, remove panels, retaining nuts and bolts
from port flap in readiness for removal.
Dave Moore - Loom identification in port wheel bay and
removal of loom retaining clamps.
Stuart - Clean and polished canopy and blast screen, in
fact, once Stu had finished, I had never seen a blast screen
looking so clean. Removal of masking tape from starboard
nose area.
Nige G- Re-attached starboard flap actuator, repainted
and fitted starboard D panel, reconnected all hydraulic
pipes in the airbrake area, cleaned and lubed tailplane
pivot bearings, removed tailplane loom for remanufacture.
Lastly, even though the starboard centre engine access
door is damaged, we managed to put it back on, this leaves
just the tailplane to put back on, this should have been
done yesterday, but the telehandler never showed up, so
that scuppered that job for now.
