Update from Nigel G - 25 November 2007

Well, what a day, everything went according to plan, the tailplane has been fitted correctly and torqued up by Keith and Chris who also fitted all but 4 of the lower access panels.

Dan and Anthony made short work of the canopy rollers and have 99% of them freed up and working correctly. We have noted that we could do with around 12 replacement rollers at some stage due to some of them having flat spots, I cannot tell you how much better the canopy slides now this work has been done.

Both ejection seats have been removed for refurbishment along with 25% of the front cockpit instrumentation, this has to be done so that we can trace each severed wire, and there are plenty of them.

Lastly, we have fitted the canopy cover for the Winter as we now have enough to be getting on with without re-entering the cockpit area until the Spring 2008.

Please follow this link to see the photo's.

Repairs to the flap are now under way, this shot shows that over 100 rivets have been drilled out, only another 500 to go!!!!
